Play with your dog

When you get home give your dog a hug and talk to him!

It’s late.  You stagger in the door, drop your purse or briefcase on the floor.  The mail goes tumbling in a pile and you drag your groceries or that six pack of beer into the house and finally after a hard days work, you’re home.

Guess who’s been dying to see you.  He/she has been waiting all day.  You are their life, their joy, their reason for living.
Play with your dog and talk to him when you get home

Talk to your dog!  Toss everything aside and just for two minutes talk to your dog and scratch him behind the ears.  It won’t take long and it will make him so happy.  Guess what?

It will also lower your blood pressure.  Ever notice how when you decide to give your dog a pat on the head it often turns into a rub and then you pick up your dogs and give him a hug and kisses.  It’s good for him and it’s good for you.  Now both of your blood pressure is lowering.  And it’s free!  You don’t have to go to the doctor or buy pills.  I’ll bet you didn’t even know you had a stress reliever right there beside you anytime you needed a bit of help through the day.

I like to buy my dogs toys.  You think that’s excessive but it’s actually good for their dental health.  A dog who plays with his toys produces more saliva and keeps his mouth from becoming too alkaline.  Alkaline produces plaque.  Toys help their teeth.
